In 2014 plywood import of pine wood in Great Britain increased to 21% in comparison with 2013 year.
Softwood plywood import on the contrary decreased to 5%, no changes in hardwood plywood import

IKEA plans to increase staff quantity at Arvidsjaur woodworking plant (Sweden). At the moment 14 employees work there. In the nearest future the stuff will increase to 24 workers. Moreover product line of half-finished wooden furniture elements will expand

In January 2015 Ukraine produced 116 thousand m3 of sawn timber products. Plywood production in January on the contrary reduced to 0.5% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Wood panels volume increased to 0.6%, veneer – to 9.5%

In 2015 Belarusian 140 woodworking enterprises plan to harvest 12.7 million cubic meters of wood. Woodworking plants have 182 harvester machines, 261 self-loading shortwood forwarders, 642 assortment machines and 1199 cargo-handling machines

Within January-November, 2014 Russia produced around 2.9 million m3 of interior and exterior plywood. It is 5.9% more than in the same period of the previous year.

Within the first half of 2014 year France imported 51 971 m3 of plywood (52 266 m3 in 2013). Finnish plywood import increased to 23 228 m3 (9 737 m3 within the first half of 2013 year), Russian plywood import– to 9 690 m3 (7 602 m3 in 2013)

According to the International Tropical Timber Organization data within the first 9 months of 2014 year Russia exported to EU 604.000 m3 of birch plywood (16% more in comparison with the same period of the previous year). The most increase in demand showed Great Britain.

Within January-September, 2014 plywood export from Russia increased to 16% in comparison with the same period of the previous year and estimated 640 thousand m3. The biggest demand for birch Russian plywood was from Great Britain

Within July-September, 2014 plywood import in Germany increased by 18% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The main suppliers – China, Russia, Finland. Germany also increased plywood import from Italy (+32%), Ukraine (61%), Belgium (+77%), Chez Republic (+39%)
