Birch plywood manufactured in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine has birch outer layers, the internal layers may be also manufactured from alder (birch “combi” plywood).
IV/IV grade plywood is supplied as a mix of birch and alder plywood crates. All panels in birch crates have birch outer layers. All panels in alder crates have alder outer layers.
Birch plywood is packed in 0.9–1.0 m3 crates, covered by plywood packing sheets from all sides and bound by metal strips. Crates are marked according to GOST 14192-77. Each crate has the following marking:
- country of origin;
- the manufacturer’s name and/or trademark;
- size and grade description;
- number of sheets in crate;
- marks of the product conformity.
