In 2016 year wooden products import in the USA was estimated at 14.8 billion US Dollars. Softwood flooring import increased by 23%, softwood plywood – by 34%, hardwood plywood and hardwood lumber – by 5%

The world’s leading trade fair for furniture production and interior design Interzum 2017 took part on May, 16-19 in Cologne.

State enterprise “Bellesbumprom” (Belarus) within January-March, 2017 increased production of wooden products by 56% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The most significant increase showed the following product groups: plywood, chipboard, paper, cardboard

Within January-March, 2017 Russian plywood export increased by 2.8% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.  Export to near-abroad countries showed 29,9% increase, to far-abroad – 0,6% increase

Within January-March, 2017 Russia increased plywood production to 1.9%, chipboard production – to 17.5%, hardboard – to 18.3%

Within 2016 year round logs export increased up to 3.2%. China is still the main importer (64% export portion). Saw-timber export also increased to 10.1% (more than 50% of the volume were imported by China).

Within 2016 year “Fanplast” (Russia) decreased chipboard production volume to 7.7% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. In 2017 the company plans to launch production of the new types of phenol-base birch plywood

In February 2017 wooden products export in Brazil increased up to 8.3%. Pine saw-timber volume increased to 8.4%, tropical saw-timber – to 16%. Pine plywood export volume increased to 6.7%, tropical plywood export volume showed 16.3% decrease. Wooden furniture export decreased to 3%

Within January-February, 2017 plywood production in Russia increased by 3.2% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Chipboard production increased by 14.2%, hardboard – by 24.3%

Within January, 2017 plywood production in Ukraine increased by 11.9% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Plywood production decreased by 7.7% , wooden panels showed decrease by 1.2%, flooring production increased by 18.1%
