CARB certified plywood

CARB (California Air Resources Board) was established in 1967 as a department within the cabinet-level California Environmental Protection Agency and consists of the Motor Vehicle Pollution Control Board and the Bureau of Air Sanitation.

The main purposes of CARB are protecting the public from exposure to toxic air contaminants, attaining and maintaining healthy air quality and providing leading approaches for complying with air pollution rules and regulations. All products containing composite wood products must comply with the Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) known as the "CARB rule." It concerns panel manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers of hardwood plywood, hardboards, medium density fiberboard (MDF), particleboard, and finished goods containing those products for sale.
CARB has established two phases of formaldehyde emission standards for plywood. Phase 1 Emission Standards for plywood = 0.08 ppm (January 2009), Phase 2 Emission Standard for plywood = 0.05 ppm (January 2010). Apextera Team offers birch plywood CARB certified
