Within January-May, 2015 EU countries decreased hardwood plywood import from Russia to 5.3%. Russian birch plywood supply to Germany decreased to 18%, to Great Britain – 4/9%, Estonia – 5.4%, Netherlands – 9.8%.

Within January-June, 2015 Chinese plywood import in Japan decreased to 36% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Supply from Malaysia and Indonesia decreased to 22%.

Hardwood plywood import in the USA within January-June, 2015 amounted to 1.592 million m3. Plywood import from South America decreased to 59%, South-East Asia – to 14%. EU-countries on the contrary increased supply to 27%.

Within January-May, 2015 plywood export in Russia increased up to 3.9% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. In value terms plywood export amounted to 424.8 million US dollars (18% less than in previous year).

In 2015 plywood production in North America countries will increase. Expected growth is around 8%. The main source of growth is new house construction increase in the USA. This tendency is expected to last till 2019 year

In May 2015 plywood import in Japan decreased to 32% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The most decrease in supply showed Chinese plywood – around 35%. In comparison with April plywood import decreased to 12%. The first five month of 2015 indicated 25% decrease

In 2014 European Union countries imported around 785 thousand cubic meters of birch plywood (10% more in comparison with 2013 year). The main importer of birch plywood was Germany

Within January-March, 2015 tropical wood import to European Union countries increased to 20.9% in comparison with the same period of the previous year (amounting to 517 million euro). Timber products import increased to 16%, plywood – 29%, beams – 26%, floor coating – 13%.

Within January-April, 2015 plywood export in Russia increased up to 1.5% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. In value terms plywood export amounted to 331.2 million US dollars (19.4% less than in previous year)

Within January-March, 2015 Germany reduced hardwood plywood import to 4% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Within the first half of 2014 hardwood plywood import in Germany mainly from Russia and China showed significant increase
