Within January-October, 2018 Belarusian plywood export volume to Poland increased by 21% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The quota of hardboards of export volume was 32%, plywood – 23%, paper – 12%, furniture – 11%, chipboard – 10%
Within January-October, 2018 Russian plywood export volume increased by 8.5% in comparison with the same period of the previous year
Within January-October, 2018 chipboard production in Ukraine increased by 4.9% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Plywood production increased by 1.9%, sawn timber production from spruce showed 20% increase, from pine – 43.7%. Veneer production decreased by 5.5%.
Within January-September, 2018 wooden products export volume of concern “Bellesbumprom” (Belarus) to Azerbaijan increased by 39.2% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Plywood accounted to 32%, sawn timber – to 30%, wooden panels – to 28%.
Within January-September, 2018 wooden products export volume of concern “Bellesbumprom” (Belarus) to Germany increased by 62% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Plywood accounted to 40%, furniture – to 50%. Among the rest exported products were doors, windows, paper, etc
Within January-September, 2018 chipboard production in Ukraine increased by 5.1% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Plywood production increased by 1.7%, sawn timber production showed 19.2% increase.
IKEA retail volume in 2018 increased by 4.7% in comparison with the same year. China was the most fast-growing market. In 2018 year the first retail shop was opened in India. On the whole, IKEA has 367 shops in 30 countries all over the world
In 2017 plywood consumption in European Union increased by 3.4% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. 30% of plywood were used in furniture production, 39% - in construction area, 13% - in transport, 8% - in packaging industry.
In 2017 year around 3 thousand plywood mills in China were closed. More than 600 hardboard production lines and more than 900 chipboard production lines were removed
